Hello, and happy mid-year!

Our instructional design team has been working hard with returning clients to update and maintain their learning programs. As we reflect on these mid-year projects, it’s a good time to share a reminder that effective eLearning design isn’t just about delivering content; it’s about creating engaging, accessible experiences that drive meaningful, long-lasting outcomes. To get there, best practices include clear learning objectives, interactive features, consistent design, and intuitive navigation. But even the most thoughtfully designed course needs one essential element to remain effective over time: ongoing evaluation.

Best Practices for eLearning Course Design: The Role of Feedback and Ongoing Maintenance

Learner feedback is a powerful tool for course improvement. Well-designed evaluations such as post-course surveys, knowledge checks, and engagement analytics offer actionable insights. These data points can reveal where learners are struggling, what content resonates, and where updates are needed.

Feedback isn’t a final step; it’s part of a continuous improvement cycle.

Using learner feedback strategically means closing the loop. Course designers and program managers should regularly review evaluation results to identify trends, prioritize updates, and implement changes. This process not only enhances the learning experience but also shows learners that their input matters and provides valuable insights to the organization.

Regular learning program maintenance is essential. Just as industries, technologies, and organizational goals evolve, so must the training that supports them. Outdated content, broken links, or irrelevant case studies can undermine credibility and engagement. Establishing a semi-annual or annual review schedule helps ensure your programs remain timely, accurate, and aligned with your objectives.

In short, feedback fuels progress, and maintenance ensures longevity. Together, they keep your eLearning programs dynamic, responsive, and impactful—hallmarks of a successful learning strategy.

Best regards,

Angela

Streamline a Professional Development Exam Prep Without Sacrificing Quality

Like many organizations today, the Texas Society of Association Executives (TSAE) faced a common challenge: how to support busy professionals who need targeted learning but can't commit to long, in-person training sessions.

To solve this, TSAE partnered with eLearningDOC to develop a flexible, focused Certified Association Executive (CAE) Test Prep Crash Course. The three-hour course was divided into six 20-minute modules, with each covering a key topic area from the CAE exam. The content was shaped by test performance data, allowing the course to concentrate on areas where candidates typically need the most support.

Using materials provided by TSAE, eLearningDOC refined and reorganized the content to create a structured, accessible learning experience. The final course was delivered as a video-based program through SeminarWeb, giving TSAE members the flexibility to study anytime, anywhere.

“TSAE has been looking to offer additional resources to our CAE study offerings for a while now. We are very grateful to eLearningDOC for helping us create something that we feel will not only help TSAE stakeholders but the industry as a whole.”

What We Learned and Loved at ATD2025

ATD2025 was a rewarding few days filled with forward-thinking ideas, meaningful conversations, and a strong sense of community. The Association of Talent Development’s annual conference brought together professionals from across the globe, all committed to advancing the future of learning.

One of the most valuable aspects of the conference was reconnecting with our clients and partners on the EXPO floor. Whether it was a brief exchange or a thoughtful conversation about upcoming initiatives, those in-person moments reinforced the strength of our collaborations.

Here’s a quick look at what we’re taking away from this year’s event:

  • Innovation is Everywhere
From AI-powered learning tools to new strategies for engagement, the EXPO floor showcased solutions that are actively transforming the way we approach professional development.
  • Learning is Evolving—Fast
Conference sessions highlighted a shift toward more personalized, inclusive, and data-informed learning experiences. Adaptability and relevance are becoming non-negotiable in course design.
  • Global Connections Matter
The Global Village was a powerful reminder of the value in learning from diverse perspectives. Hearing from L&D leaders around the world gave us new insights—and renewed inspiration for what’s next.

We’re returning from ATD2025 with fresh ideas, a deeper sense of purpose, and a strong appreciation for the people driving this field forward. Thank you to everyone who took the time to connect with us—we truly valued each interaction.
